Lost the Battle, but not the War...

5th place. I won't lie, it's disappointing. A top 3 finish here in Iowa would have been a blue ribbon. But alas, Texans never pick the easy route. We like that whole, "take the road least traveled" theory, I guess.

So we continue on to South Carolina. We weren't sure there for a minute if that would be the decision. The Governor left us hanging a little bit last night with his statement about "returning to Texas and reassessing..." But via twitter (or "tweeter" as Gov. Perry likes to call it) he told the world that his marathon to the White House will in fact stay on course to South Carolina.

And that's fantastic. Get us to the South. Get us to the folks who know Governor Perry best. I don't think there is ever a rise to the top of any organization of any kind that doesn't include a defeat or two. This is ours.

Governor Perry said on the stump Monday that yesterday would be our campaign's Omaha Beach, our D-Day, but I'm thinking maybe this was our Alamo.

I say we pick ourselves up of the floor of this middle-America state and press on...with a vengeance.

And God willing, that's exactly what we will do.

xoxo Sara Marie
