Its official, I'm going... January 1st-4th. Today the high in Sioux City, IA is 20. The low is -6. I was freezing my ass off this morning in 33 degree weather. I am so screwed.
I don't care though. It is going to be so awesome. I did a similar adventure for Giuliani back in '08 in New Hampshire and Florida, and I can't wait to do it again for Governor Perry.
It goes like this... A coworker and I fly out at 645am on the 1st. (Ridiculous I know, but its for the love of the game folks.) Anyway, once in Sioux City (you fly into Omaha, NE and pretty cheap prices from Austin on American Airlines) and once there it will be strictly GOTV and caucus action. We will be phone banking and knocking down doors. On Election Day there are 1800 caucuses in 750 different locations. The Perry Strike Force team will be dispersing to speak on behalf of the Governor at the different sites. Something like 60 or 70% of Iowans decide that night or are at least open to changing their mind the night of the caucuses. That means it is anyone's game. We intend on winning.
And when we do, we will party the night away, hit the road (or air) back to Texas, and keep moving forward to the nomination!
