DO NOT EVER USE NTB. EVER.
I had a nail in my back rear tire last week. I took it to NTB to get patched up. First they told me it'd be an hour wait, so I made an appointment and came back a few hours later. Then I waited for an hour anyway, despite setting up that appointment. But they fixed the tire and charged me 20 bucks.
The sensor light was still on in my car, but the NTB guy told me not to worry that sometimes it takes a while for the sensors to reset. Well 48 hours after getting it fixed, the light was still on. So, I had my boyfriend check the tire, and it was COMPLETELY FLAT. He switched the tire out with the spare (in 10 minutes, impressive I know) and I rolled up to NTB right as they opened this morning.
I told the jerk that was at the counter my problem as politely as possible. I figured killing them with kindness would be the first plan of attack and then I'd pull out the "don't mess with me biatch" card only if needed. Well it was needed. He checked the tire and said "It's not repairable at this point, so you will just need to buy another tire." I argued back that, no, they would need to buy me another tire since it was obviously not ever completely repaired from the start. He came up with some theory that I hit another nail sometime after leaving when I first got it fixed, and that the sensor doesn't really mean anything at all. I pointed out that it would be impossible to damage the sidewall, where some new damage was found, without the tire being low, thus it was never fully aired up. He basically told me he didn't care and because they didn't carry the particular tire I have, he wasn't going to do anything, but refund me the 20 bucks I paid initially.
Now I understand if someone messes up and can't make it right (ie. they don't carry the tire) but the least they could do is be polite, or sympathetic, or remorseful for maybe at least contributing to the problem if not causing it entirely. Not our friend at NTB, nope, he was a complete ass. Excuse my language, but it is the most appropriate word for the situation.
So I got my refund, and I am going to go buy a new tire and have it put on my car elsewhere. At this point, even if NTB sold my type of tire, I would not have the work done there. I will never go there again, and I hope none of you reading this do either.
There, now I feel better. Happy Monday Folks!
xoxo Sara Marie
