It's Sugar Mama's Bake Shop on South First here in Austin. It. Is. Delicious.
I first heard about Sugar Mama's a week or so ago. A few folks here in my office tried it out and raved about the cupcakes and small pies.
Today a few of us ventured south to pick some up for a birthday celebration. I got the Banana Puddin' cupcake that is only available on Thursdays. I had half of it on the way back to the office and it was as close to a religious experience as I've ever gotten while riding in the back seat of a car. When i got back to the office another coworker and I split ANOTHER Banana Puddin' cupcake.
These are the Pink Champagne cupcakes, I didn't try them but the are pretty!
My head is spinning folks. Seriously, I had to down a glass of water, and I'm thinking of making some popcorn to cut the sugar overload with some salt. So sweet, but so yummy.
The cupcake is a banana cake (think banana nut bread without nuts) and banana pudding on the inside with whipped cream and a nilla wafer on top. And that description does not do the taste justice.
I would go on and on, because I can, about how good it was but instead I just urge yall to visit Sugar Mama's yourself. Hit that link above and get over there ASAP.
