38 years ago today my mama and dado got married. Folks, if you know me (who has been around for almost 27 of those years) you know that this was no easy task. I tested these two people, almost as much as a parent can be tested. Ok, I wasn't that bad, but I certainly was not easy...not to mention they more than just survived the normal trials that any life and marriage journey through. They are the perfect example of the institution of marriage, and that is something that is hard to find now days.
Luckily for the world my Mama and Dado have played parents to more than just my sister and me. They have taken in several other children along the way and always treated our friends and extended family (with blood ties and without) as their own. And all of us are better people because of their lead and their love.
So here is to you, Mama and Dado, Congratulations!
