Quick re-cap: Shopped and hit happy hour at The Domain on Friday night... rode dirt bikes (I'm an all-star by the way) on Saturday before attending a family fish-fry at the Kinney's and seeing the boyfriend's parents for a few (get well boyfriend's mama), then had a banana milkshake at 24 Diner with a Waffle Sandwich before booking my birthday trip to San Diego in November today! Whoa fabulous.
Pay no attention to my make-upless face and more the MONSTER waffle sandwich and yummy banana millkshake. 24 Diner at 6th and Lamar, delicious.
That is my boyfriend who is about to go dominate the big, scary track that I would never attempt. The flat circle track was a lil more my speed and, oh by the way, I rocked it. And that is my lil SKS bike with the 14 on it. :)
Had to protect the champagne on the way home so I could make some of my family's favorite Sangria for the Saturday Fish Fry.
So all of this brings me to my sentimental topic today. Happiness. I have it... a lot of it. And after thinking about how close the holidays are this morning (including the annual "let's be grateful" day of Thanksgiving) it occurred to me... I should be way more aware of my blessings. Not just special gifts for no reason from my boyfriend or random trips I get to go on, but the more important things like my family and health and job and the Yankees Game One win Saturday night. Oh oops that last one may have strayed from the point.
Seriously though, I have so much great fluff in my life right now I think it is probably important to also take a moment to be thankful for the foundational blessings of my life.
I have a family like none other. My parents are some of the most successful, caring, giving, wonderful people alive. To say I'm spoiled not just by material goods, but love too is quite the understatement.
And my sister and her hubby are the perfect sister and brother-in-law duo. Sisterpants is not only my editor (she will most likely email me in approximately 3 hours to tell me of my grammar mistakes in this post) but she is also the closest friend I've ever had.
I have an extended family that goes from aunts and uncles to family without any blood ties like the Freers and Cunninghams. Each and every one of them are a part of the biggest fan club/support system a gal could possibly have.
My health, while plagued by a couple of injuries lately, is far better than some people my age, and I'm lucky to complain about soreness from working out or beer-league team play.
My job something to be thankful for too. Not because it provides the means to pay my bills, although that is especially nice, but more so because I work with some really fun people. My bosses are great leaders, and my co-workers fun to be around. I know plenty of people who hate their job and dread going to work each day, my life could not be more opposite.
Obviously the good Lord has blessed me in other really big, important ways like being American and having the United States Military protecting me and my way of life here at home and all throughout the globe, quality friends, an amazing boyfriend, a fabulous place to live, and Robbi Cano's peak coming right at the beginning of October baseball, but honestly it would take more than a blog post to elaborate on all of them. So I'll end here and just say this: "Thank you God for all my blessings, I am happy."
xoxo Sara Marie
