Here's the Tammy update:
Tam Tam is a hussy. Her blood work came back, and vet Jessica has confirmed she has TVT. And after a little research you'll find that TVT is Transmissible Venereal Tumor... aka... Doggy STD.
Luckily 4 or 5 treatments, which she has already begun, will wipe out the mistakes of her past.
The bad news, minus finding out your vacation pet is such a bad girl, is that Tammy will most likely be staying in her homeland of Costa Rica.
Doc has talked with vet Jessica and agreed to work on finding a good home for her, away from boy dogs, with a nice Tico family.
Now, obviously I was stunned to find out that cute little puppies can get STDs but I was even more shocked at the next Animal lesson I got last week....
It went like this... My sister posted on Facebook about her Mr. Cat going to kitty Heaven or something. So I emailed her to find out what happened. Well apparently a neighbor, who also cares for the cat, took him to the vet to finally get neutered. Well after his blood work it was confirmed that he had FIV. That is the cat version of the HIV virus. EXCUSE ME?!?!?!?!? Cats can get AIDS?!?!?!?!?!?
Yep. My sissy's cat was put down to help curb the passage of FIV from one neighborhood cat to another. What has the world come to?
We have Tammy with an STD and Mr. Cat with FIV. Unbelievable.
The happy ending is that Mr. Cat is now in kitty Heaven and will never know the pains of being so sick and Tammy will soon run along her favorite beaches, where she will remain for the rest of her life, speaking her native language!
