This is no longer my blog...

It's Tammy's. I even wrote how the blog would transform while I was in Costa Rica before I left. Never did I imagine it would be overtaken by a Tico dog. I thought travel tips and reviews of my tropical destination, not vet updates from Jessica in Santa Cruz on Doc's little rescue mutt.

But alas, I have succumbed to my audience's demands for more information...

Today it is good news... well it's not bad news...

Tammy has erhlichia canis. I have no clue what this is... Jessica says its treatable and started the meds yesterday.

After a quick goolge search I have learned that E. Canis is an infection transmitted by ticks. Whoa. Like Jessica, the Costa Rican vet told Doc, it is treatable. But to Doc's credit, if it is not treated it is fatal. Tammy, if left on the Tamarindo beach, would have suffered a massive hemorrhage eventually. Not now though, now Tam Tam will be treated, and when she is healthy, hopefully in a few days, the quest to bring her to America will continue. If Doc isn't broke by then....
