DEBATE NUMERO UNO...

Ok ok I know it is not really the first debate.... but it is the first debate with GOVERNOR RICK PERRY.

This day is a lot like Christmas Eve for me. It is taking FOREVER. 7pm cannot come fast enough. I have several projects planned for the day and an appointment with Doc (yep, Tammy's rescuer) to help move the day along.

Then at 630 tonight a few folks will be gathering at my condo to watch the fireworks.

I'm not going to lie, I'm crazy nervous. Perry is walking into this thing with a GIANT target on his back, but as seen in recent appearances, the man was born for this. He is hitting his stride, and a strong performance tonight will continue the incredible momentum he's got already.

Romney beware.

But Perry is not one to attack. Well that's not to say he won't attack, just don't expect him to get up there and start burning the stage down. (Probably an insensitive choice of words there, given the wildfires in the Great State, sorry) Anyway, The Governor has a proven record and he's going to talk about it. Why not? Electing a candidate despite experience is obviously not working for the American people, so why not offer up a candidate with a little time in an executive office. And why not choose the one who has done the most with that office?

Perry's record is not what makes me nervous though. He's got that on lock. He can talk about it, he can give ya his four principles of government, and he can even take a few stabs with a smile on his face and a good zinger to volley back. But it's when he gets out of his comfort zone that worries me.

See guys like Romney have been prepping for nights like this for YEARS; Perry only a few months, at the most, more like a few weeks in reality. So when the career candidates (as opposed to career politicians, because while Romney has been running for years, the man has not been elected to anything in a while) get up there, they will be a little more conditioned for whatever unfolds.

And we will see what that that is tonight... I'll be watching...probably not tweeting or blogging, but I will absolutely be watching. If my comments won't get me fired, I'll post them tomorrow.

xoxo Sara Marie
