Thursday on the Rich Coast...

We woke up to rain. Well actually we fell asleep to rain…and it rained all night.. And when we woke up it was still raining. Maybe we didn’t pick the best time to be in Tamarindo, during the rainy season and all but honestly, thus far, the rain hasn’t kept us from fun. Day 6 was no different…well much more mellow than our day in the jungle, but still a perfect vacation day…

We started with some egg sandwiches. I have become a master at scrambled eggs, with melted cheese on a toasted roll. I have made them 3 different mornings this week and they are a huge hit.

After our breakfast we headed down to the Beach Club for a day of sun. We were there for 5 hours. We sat under the cabanas during the light showers and roasted in the sun on the poolside and beach front loungers.
The service at the Beach Club is unmatched. They are quick to bring anything we ask for in broken Spanish, and even offered us three free coconut shots over our 5 hour stay.

When we ordered lunch, one of the staffers set up our cabana to be our lunch table. We each had our place settings, and when our burgers and ham sandwiches arrived they did in an amazing presentation.

And the presentation was not the best part. The taste was. All of it was delicious. And when we finished it was back into the sun.

Now while we were sunning and enjoying the UV rays, Doc took Tammy to the Costa Rican Vet. Yep, it was time to get serious about this adoption. (Please note: There is going to be no actual adoption, as there are not adoption papers, thus it is probably considered more of a “finders keepers” situation than anything) Anyway the Vet checked Tammy out and gave her a few medications and cleared her for take off, I mean for the trip back to the States. Doc was thrilled to come back to the Beach Club, with Tammy in tow obviously, and tell us how “legit” she was.

Sometime around 3pm Nina and McGruber, Doc and I all decided to head back to the house. The boys were already there so that just left one other gal down at the Beach Club. She decided she wanted to stay at the bar and have a few more cocktails while flirting, innocently, with the French bartender. We told her to just call when she wanted a ride and we would happily go pick her up.

Back at the house we napped and I worked on my blogs after getting a few emails demanding updates. It wasn’t until we were almost ready to decide on dinner than our lone girlfriend down at the Beach Club made it back to the house. It was her birthday so I will say that she did have plenty of reason to celebrate, but she may have over done it a tad and was a drunky pants. She gave us some hysterical entertainment as we loaded up for dinner.
And for dinner we headed back to La Esquina. We were trying not to duplicate meals so that we’d be sure to hit up all that Tamarindo has to offer, but we just couldn’t get the Guacamole from a few nights ago out of our hungry minds. So we returned and it was just as fabulous as before!

And that was it for Thursday. Much more mellow than that terrifying Wednesday, but those long hours on the beach were just what I needed!

Friday, our last full day in Costa Rica would be on the same level as Thursday but even more luxurious, with a massage booked over at the resort down the road…

Words for Friday in my carry-a-long notebook:

Car Fail
Pool
Massage and Facial
Beach Club Finale
Pack

I would like to add a shout out here to McGruber for helping me with the blog posts. She used her brainiac powers to figure out shrinking the pictures to load them faster, and it is really the only reason I have managed to get all these posted. So Gracias, McGruber.

xoxo Sara Marie
