So we did and little workout before McGruber and Nina met us to complete our group of girls and all do yoga class together.
It was awesome. And only my second yoga class ever! The instructor spoke pretty well. Her accent was thick, but she did the whole class in English. After the hour in there we all headed back to the house to clean up before going to get lunch in town.

And let’s talk about this smoothie…and all smoothies here for that matter. They are delicious. Seriously the best I’ve ever had, and I drink a lot of smoothies. This particular day I had Manzana, Fresa, y Banana, or Apple, Strawberry and Banana. They are made with leche or agua, I generally choose leche because it comes packaged not out of the faucet. Anyway they are all divine. I’m not sure if it is the freshness of the fruit or what, but you cannot go wrong ordering any type of smoothie in Costa Rica.
Now at one of the stands is a guy named Junior. Not only does Junior run his small stand as a drink bar, but also books excursion trips. We had talked to Junior once before and he showed us a few good packages. He was seriously flirty and promised to make us special drinks if we booked through him. So on this Tuesday we decided it was time to all agree on excursions and book. He offered us two. One was an all day adventure to Buena Vista National Forrest and the other to Palo Verde. Buena Vista was zip lining, horseback riding, hot springs, water tubing, waterfalls, mud baths, and lunch. The other was a boat ride to a National Park and taking pictures with animals like monkeys and crocodiles. The thrill seekers won, and we each paid 100 bucks to confirm our Wednesday adventure. Then we demanded our free drink, and Junior did not disappoint.
Cant get this stupid picture to flip but its Junior none the less...
We got over there and claimed a Casita cabana just as the afternoon sky started to cloud up. So for the first 15 minutes or so we headed out to the loungers. Just before you get to them though, there is a hammock. I saw McGruber stretched out in one and Doc taking pictures. I heard McGruber shout something about “Come over to the hammocks” so…. I sprinted across the sand and leapt into the hammock backward, slamming McGruber. It was quite hysterical, especially when we realized Doc had documented the tackle so well….
As soon as the storm rolled in however, it was unrelenting. So we bolted for the car and headed back to the Casa Maya….with a dog….a stolen dog.
Tammy, the dog returned. The dog from Dia Dos. The one we let come home with us, and the girls gave her a bath. Well, while at the Beach Club she wandered up, and we just couldn’t leave her in the pouring rain. So she jumped up in the back of our small SUV rental and chilled in our open area during the storm.
When the rain passed we drove back to town for some afternoon shopping. Tammy stayed at the house, very content on her bath towel bed by the front door.
We bought a bunch of T-shirts and jewelry for our friends and family back home, had dinner on the beach at an open air place called Walter’s and came home for an early bedtime.
McGruber and I looking back toward the beach!
