An Open Letter to Our President and Elected Officials....

Dear Mr. President and other elected officials-of BOTH parties,

My name is Sara Marie. I'm 26 years old (almost 27), and I pay all my bills--all of them, on time too.

But the part that is really going to blow your mind is... when I spend too much, the fine folks at Visa don't call and say,  "It's cool, go buy some more stuff, and don't worry about paying down your balance; we will just increase your spending limit."

Unfortunately for America, it seems as though yall believe this is, in fact, how it works.

The "deal" that has been made, cuts spending, and doesn't raise taxes, so maybe it is a step in the right direction. Less money spent now is more money saved later, I guess, that's how yall see it.

The way I see it is... no matter how far you are in debt right now, spending over that amount, in any amount, adds to the debt no matter what. Fixing the problem, permanently, is to NOT ADD TO THE DEBT you already amassed, AND cut spending.

Unfortunately, yet again, this isn't the solution yall chose, and maybe it's an impossible solution. But, then, I think being the greatest/most powerful nation in the world and still barrowing .40 cents of every dollar spent would have been an impossible point to reach, so what do I know?
