The Last Full Day in Costa Rica…

Friday morning we woke up and immediately headed to town for breakfast….or well, we tried. We got in the car and no dice. The battery was dead. Luckily we have two rent cars, and just as we were about to go inside for some of my egg sammies, the boys drove up from their earlier outing for their morning meal.

We decided to deal with the car failure after our AM coffee and comida, so we headed down to Kahaiki. We all split huge breakfast burritos, and made it back to the house in time to watch the boys jump the dead battery and start her right up! Crisis averted. Although we did call the rental company, and another battery was being driven to Casa Maya anyway. Gracias Dollar Rental, Gracias.

For the rest of the morning and some of the afternoon I was in the pool…or next to it. I was soaking up all that tropical sun I could before heading back to the 110 degree heat of Texas. I read through a few magazines and totally relaxed on my final day in Tamarindo.

It got even better when it was time for my massage and facial down at the Barcelo Resort. This place is spectacular. It is an all inclusive resort that I would highly recommend if you are ever coming to this part of Costa Rica. It is colorful, and beach front and had a giant pool. We saw the buffet and it looked massive, although their casino is more like a room with slots. Oh well, the Spa has got to make up for that.

The Spa is out of this world. I got there, and was offered tea and water like most places. Then taken to my massage room. It was a fresh, white room with a floor to ceiling window facing nothing but tropical plants and trees. It was perfect. I laid down on the table, and the little Costa Rican lady got to work on my overworked (remember Wednesday?) body. Half way through the massage she stopped, and did a facial treatment to my sunburned face and then finished the massage. All in all it may have been the best hour or so of my trip. Certainly a perfect ending for sure.

Or I just thought that was the perfect ending. What really was the perfect ending was a Beach Club Finale dinner with the other in the group… A Last Supper of sorts at our favorite place. And as always they did not disappoint. Complete with free shots, yet again, we had a fabulous dinner of bbq hamburgers and chocolate cake desserts.

Now we are packing up and getting ready for the long trek back to Tejas. The long trek with Tammy the Tico dog in tow. It should make for an interesting story so standby for those details….

Until then….

xoxo Sara Marie
