Ok I can't ignore the headlines any longer. So here's my take:
This girl is what's wrong with America. (As well as Kesha, and Chris Brown, and Courtney Love and and and...)
Obviously she is guilty of a number of things; as well as her family. And that is where I have the biggest issue: her family.
Let's back up before the little girl was killed. Casey Anthony is a HIGH SCHOOL dropout. WHAT?!?!? Who drops out of HIGH SCHOOL in today's world? Many people still don't go to college, and that is stupid enough in today's society, but to not finish HIGH SCHOOL, well, I think this is probably where things started going south for this family.
And Casey's parents, I will go out on a limb and say, have got to be held responsible for that, at the very least. Do you really expect something more than partying and having a child without any father figure from your daughter when she can't finish high school? Maybe a little discipline before her 18th birthday would have steered Casey in a different direction than a murder trial.
And now let's talk about this trial. For the record, I called the verdict. The defense, no matter how crazy it seemed, did a good job of throwing out there every possible reason there could be doubt, just doubt. Unfortunately that's all you need, some doubt that maybe it didn't go down as the prosecution outlined. And they did that. Does that mean Casey Anthony is innocent? Nope. But it does mean that no one is being held responsible for the death of a child.
This is where my next concern is. The family's statement after the trial was something about "closure" and "moving on" HELLLLO?!!?! NOTHING WAS ACCOMPLISHED WHERE JUSTICE FOR THIS CHILD'S DEATH IS CONCERNED! HOW DO YOU HAVE CLOSURE?
If anything, more questions have now been raised. Unless, of course, you already know exactly what happened. And that's what I think is going on here. I'm no expert, but if I had to guess, I'd say not only did Casey Anthony kill her daughter (intentionally, or not, she did it. That is clear to me.) but her parents definitely had knowledge of it in some fashion. I think all are at fault here- ALL OF THEM; and none will ever pay the price, or any price.
Not here on Earth anyway. This is where you have to hold on to your faith, and know that in the depths of their sleep and on judgment day, they will get what they deserve.
